How to schedule a Zoom or

in-person visit with me.

Dear Readers,

From the start, I intended for Along the Red Dirt Road to be entertaining, provocative, and purposeful,

To that end, I am deeply grateful that readers seem to love the characters, the setting, and the plot - with its various, somewhat mysterious twists and turns. Yet, I had no idea that my book would be released at such a troubling yet hopeful time in our history. As things turned out, a tale about truth, decency, racial equality, persistence, mortality, friendship, and hope has struck a far deeper chord than I ever expected. In spite of it all, there is much goodness to build upon.

TALKS & SIGNINGS - WHAT TO EXPECT:

APPROPRIATENESS: Along the Red Dirt Road is a historical novel with timely implications that are highlighted in my talks. This tale is appropriate for ages 13 up (M/F). There is no vulgarity or sexual content in this book.

CONTENT: Although Along the Red Dirt Road is fictional, most of the characters are composites of real people with fascinating stories I'd love to share. The Dust Bowl and Shenandoah Valley settings are also composites - of real towns, buildings, farms, orchards, cemeteries, and other places with rich histories that deserve their own telling. I look forward to sharing some backstories, personal experiences and writer insights that relate to Along the Red Dirt Road. Even more. I look forward to hearing how my readers were impacted by various aspects of this tale.

TIME AND FORMAT: My presentations are normally tailored to those who have read my book, but may be modified to accommodate a mix of those who have read it and those who are simply interested. Please allow for the 'talk' portion of my presentation to last 10 to 25 minutes plus additional time for discussion, questions, socializing, book signing, and purchasing books. I am also open to blending the presentation portion with discussion.
