HN2 - THE SEQUEL.
A while back, one of my readers posted a review on Goodreads (shown below) that also posed a question. Thanks so much for your interest and feedback, Rhonda. I am now ready to address your inquiry.
I did not write ALONG THE RED DIRT ROAD with a sequel in mind. Yet, immediately after release, a steady stream of readers began to urge me in that direction. Over time, I realized that there was much more to this story that deserved to be told. So, serious work began in early September, 2020. Happy to report that I've become quite attached to the characters (old and new) and the story line of my second historical fiction novel. If all goes to plan, look for release this summer, 2022.
The likely title may be too revealing, so I'm going with the working title "HN2" (Historical Novel II) until the actual one is finalized. As with ALONG THE RED DIRT ROAD, HN2 is primarily set in the Shenandoah Valley. Because HN2 is a sequel, I urge my readers to first read ALONG THE RED DIRT ROAD, Having done so, the background and prior character development will further enrich your experience.
Peace and Love,

A READER REVIEW, ALONG THE RED DIRT ROAD
from Goodreads
"Goodness, it was nice to read a story about a loving family and a young girl's quest for truth during these troubled times. This story is timely!
The author weaves events during the Great Depression with Civil War events seamlessly and unexpectedly. Character development is excellent. I was amazed to discover this is the author's debut novel. It would make a great movie!
It begs for a sequel, and I hope she will write one. I haven't read a book that made me laugh, cry, and smile with satisfaction like this one did in a long time. I heartily recommend this book."
